Continuing my week of Christmas Sale reviews, today’s Steam review is for Lego Jurassic World. Now, I’m a long-standing fan of the Lego series of games, going right back to Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones on the PS2. It’s incredible to see how far the games have come along with each new installment, and while a part of me misses the simplicity of the older titles, you can’t help but appreciate all the work that’s gone into these newer, more involved stories. Lego Jurassic World is no exception.
The game involves multiple stories, offering you Jurassic Park as well as Jurassic World – and just playing as a triceratops in the second level alone is a great sign of a great adventure to come. Like any other Lego game, you simply have free rein to run around and smash things up in the least graceful of fashions, through story-led levels and a further sprawling over-world.
While not challenging by any means, it’s action-packed and enjoyable, and adds just the right amount of humour to the classic tale of the famed dinosaur theme park – everything you would expect it to be really. If you’re looking for something that will take a bit of skill and patience, this probably isn’t for you, but if you embrace childhood, want a casual bit of fun for a few hours, or are just a fan of Jurassic Park, then definitely buy this, or indeed any of the titles in the series that might take your fancy.
